Maksim Chmerkovskiy Celebrated His 30th Birthday
January 25, 2010 by Lynn
These photos show that while Karina was on the beach having fun, Dancing With the Stars pro dancers were having a blast celebrating Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s 30th birthday. There to help celebrate was fellow DWTS dancer Tony Dovolani and his wife Lina (seen together in the photo where they are seated.)
New York’s Tenjune nightclub hosted a very glitzy event in honor of Maks with special drinks created by Chopin Vodka in his honor. There were specialty drinks called Maks – Straight Up, the Maksim Mule and Maksim’s Flamenco and it looks like they were a big hit. Cold Stone Creamery …read more
Karina Smirnoff on the Beach With New Boyfriend
We know that Dancing With the Stars pro dancers Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy broke off their engagement months ago. As beautiful as Karina is, it’s no surprise she’s already met someone new.
Here are some photos of Karina and her new beau, baseball player Brad Penny of the St Louis Cardinals, at a tropical beach resort in the Turks and Caicos Islands. They went snorkeling, played catch with the baseball and had some romantic walks on the beach together. It looks like things are going great for them!

Dancing Men Among Sexiest Men in 2009 Too
December 29, 2009 by Lynn
It’s no surprise that a number of hot male dancers made Buddy TV’s Top 100 Sexiest Men of 2009 list too. In fact, I’m in total agreement about nearly all of these.
French actor Gilles Marini placed the highest of the male dancers on the list. (No offense to anyone, but why can’t my neighbors look like him and shower outside…)
#66 Ryan Di Lello, So You Think You Can Dance
Some people might think all male dancers are lithe, slightly effeminate and delicate dancers. Not Ryan. This ballroom stud is a macho, muscular extreme sports enthusiast whose …read more
DWTS & SYTYCD Stars Take Broadway Curtain Calls
December 27, 2009 by Lynn
During their breaks from Dancing With the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, three dance stars have been doing Broadway. Mary Murphy, the sparkling and enthusiastic judge from So You Think You Can Dance and the fabulous professional dancers from Dancing With the Stars, Kym Johnson & Maksim Chmerkovskiy are seen in these photos taking a curtain call.
The three are taking part in the Broadway production of Burn the Floor, to rave reviews. They all three look spectacular! (OOPS! Something happened to poor Maks’ shirt!)

October 20, 2009 by Lynn
[Photos: Newsom]
On last night’s performance show of Dancing With the Stars, the dancers had to bring the intensity. Some danced the Paso Doble, some did the Argentine Tango. It was a great night of dancing.

Natalie Coughlin & Alec Mazo – Her moves were quite powerful, but lacked the staccatto that they needed. I thought it was a really good performance, though.

DWTS Dancers Celebrated a Birthday Together Yesterday
October 11, 2009 by Lynn
Last night, a bunch of the Dancing With the Stars dancers went to the Lucky Strike bowling alley in Hollywood to help celebrate the birthday of Mark Ballas’ girlfriend Joanna Pacitti. Joanna was a contestant on the eighth season of American Idol. She turned 24 on October 6th.
Mark, being the gallant boyfriend, was carrying Joanna’s birthday cake out of the building when he dropped it on the ground! Here’s how he made it into a funny situation. (You’ve got to love the sense of humor.)
Pictured are Joanna Krupa, Melissa Joan Hart, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Mark Ballas, Louie …read more
Dancing With the Stars 9: Week 3 Performances
October 5, 2009 by Lynn

Tonight was Latin night on Dancing With the Stars. The dancers had to perform either the Rumba or the Samba. One is hot, slow and romantic, the other is red-hot and lively. It was a lot of fun to see another side of some of the dancers.
Here’s the rundown of tonight’s performances:

Dancing With the Stars 9: Kathy Ireland Goes Home
September 30, 2009 by Lynn

This was a fun Dancing With the Stars results show that started with the judges’ choice dance of the week, Mya & Dmitry Chaplin’s Jive.
Eleven of the couples were only separated by three points with the judges’ scores, so it was anyone’s week to go home. While we were on the edge of our seats, waiting to find out if our favorites would stay for another week, Joss Stone, the USC Trojan Marching Band & Selena Gomez each performed for us.
After some amazing performances by the pro dancers, we finally got to find out that Kathy Ireland & …read more
Dancing With the Stars 9: Week Two Performances
September 29, 2009 by Lynn
[Photos: Newsom]
Tonight was the first time on this season of Dancing With the Stars where all the dancers danced together in one night. They each performed one of three dance styles; Jive, Quickstep or Tango. Some were amazingly better than last week…some just don’t seem to have as much coordination as the others. Overall, it was a very fun night of dance.
Here’s the rundown of tonight’s performances:

Joanna Krupa & Derk Hough – She wasn’t as graceful this time, she danced with flat feet. It wasn’t a very challenging routine and she still seemed a bit hesitant.

During last night’s Dancing With the Stars results show, two of the stars were sent home. Macy Gray, who just didn’t seem to enjoy the style of dance and Ashley Hamilton, who should be very proud of himself for being able to perform at all after he had been wheelchair bound in the past, were both eliminated.
It was an exciting kickoff week for the ninth season of the show and it will be fun to see who makes to the end and who goes home next.
Find out about all of this season’s dancers. Here are their bios.
