Dancing With the Stars 7: Warren & Kym Talk About 70s Moves
October 24, 2008 by Lynn
And here’s a clip with Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson explaining how they came up with all the 70s moves they put into their dance routine this week. And Warren talks about doing hip-hop.
Dancing With the Stars 7: Brooke & Derek Talk About the Week

This week, Brooke Burke and Derek Hough tore up the dance floor with their amazing jitterbug. And after the elimination, they took a few moments to talk to Edyta Sliwinska about the week’s competition:
Dancing With the Stars 7: Toni Braxton is Out
Surpisingly, this week Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo were eliminated from the Dancing With the Stars competition. I didn’t expect this one at all. As much as I have enjoyed Cloris and Corky this season, I think it’s time for them to go home.
And I’m probably going to upset some Susan Lucci fans, but I’m not a fan of her dancing. She’s too timid and her movements are too measured. She just doesn’t put the emotion into her dance moves. She executes the movements, but they still seem a bit empty for me. She needs to let loose more. True, she has had an ankle and now a foot injury this season, but I think Toni Braxton is a better dancer and brings more emotion into her dance moves. But that’s just me.
I am also thrilled with the addition of the four new dance styles to the show. Swing dance is my all-time favorite style to dance and I may not be a great salsa dancer, but I enjoy doing it anyway. And the hustle and jitterbug are so much fun to watch, I think this will be great for the show. (And who can deny that the crazy hair styles the Hough siblings wore this week were fun…?)
My favorite two teams are still Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson and Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer. I am expecting Cloris Leachman to be sent hom next week.
Who are your fovorites? Who do you think needs to go home next? Do you agree with Toni Braxton being eliminated this week? Leave a comment to let us know!
Dancing With the Stars 7: Campaign Commercials
This week on Dancing With the Stars, the dancers starred in funny compaign ads to compete for our votes. They were totally to make fun of all the actual campaign ads we are bombarded with at the moment. Each one is funny by itself, but to see them all together is a lot of fun. My favorite is the one that says that Lance Bass is probably crazy…
Dancing With the Stars 7: Sir Dance-A-Lot Speaks Up
October 16, 2008 by Lynn
Here’s Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer telling Edyta Sliwinska how they came up with the dance routine this week. They say it wasn’t necessarily intended to be “goth” at all… And wouldn’t their dance costumes this week be the perfect Halloween costumes? I just love them and hope they make it to the finals…or even win!!
Dancing With the Stars 7: Rocco & Karina Talk About Their Elimination
October 15, 2008 by Lynn
After the results show this week on Dancing With the Stars, Rocco & Karina talked to Edyta Sliwinska about their time on the show. They all said they loved getting to see Bruno dance a bit, Rocco talks about his new projects and they speculate about Halloween this year. It’s a fun discussion:
Dancing With the Stars 7: Rocco is Out
October 14, 2008 by Lynn
After getting a reprieve last week when Misty had to bow out of the competition, Rocco DiSpirito did finally meet his end in Dancing With the Stars. I thought he was fun to watch and it was obvious that he was really enjoying himself on the dance floor. It’s a shame he had to be voted off.
He did manage to get Bruno Tonioli out on the dance floor at the end of the show. It was so cool to get to see Bruno dance a bit!
And Rocco gave a totally gracious speech after he was eliminated. I had always thought he was a real jerk after seeing him on the reality show The Restaurant, but I have changed my mind about him. I like him more these days.
As for my two favorite dancers, it’s still 100% Lance Bass & Warren Sapp. I just love them both and hope they make it to the finals!!
And the team that I expect to go home next week is definitely Cloris & Corky. She’s been so much fun to watch, but this is about the time in the season when things get more serious. But I guess we’ll have to wait to see what happens.
Dancing With the Stars 7: Injuries Galore This Week!
October 8, 2008 by Lynn
This was another surprising week on Dancing With the Stars. We found out that there were three injuries during rehearsals this week. Derek Hough fell and knocked himself out cold when he hit his head on the floor. Susan Lucci twisted her ankle, but taped it up and performed a jive anyway. And tragically, Olympic athlete Misty May-Treanor tore her achilles tendon!!!
YIKES!! That’s one of the most painful leg injuries possible! Sadly, she had to bow out of the competition because she had to have surgery and doesn’t want to take a chance on ruining her athletic career by delaying the recovery at all. That also means that one of my favorite two male dancers, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is out too.
It was a bitter sweet repreive for the other dancers because they found out tat no one would be sent home this week because of Misty leaving. But we did find out that the lowest scoring pair was chef Rocco DiSpirito and his partner Karina Smirnoff. That means that next week, the votes from this week will be added in to determine the team to go home.
My two favorite dance teams are still Lance & Lacey and Warren & Kym. I really hope they make it to the finals!
It’s so sad to see Misty taken out of the competition so early! And so tragically!! For an athlete to suffer an injury of this type is very, very serious and I truly hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.
Dancing With the Stars 7: As Cold as Siberia…?
OK, I’m guilty of saying negative things about Kim Kardashian’s level of passion in her dance moves, but I wasn’t the one that did the most dissing this week! The judges were downright mean to her. The worst was Bruno Tonioli. He told her that her dancing was:
…as cold and as distant as Siberia.
Now THAT’S harsh!
I am not surprised that she went home this week, I was surprised that Ted McGinley went home before her. But that’s no reason to be cruel. She was trying to learn very difficult ways to dance.
In my opinion, dancing should always be about having fun and should always be a positive experience. Not everyone has the same ability to learn the moves or to become great dancers, but to be mean about that is wrong.
Shame on the judges this week for being too critical. It didn’t have to get that bad.
Dancing With the Stars 7: The Most Fun Dances This Week
October 1, 2008 by Lynn
This week’s performances were almost all very, very good for the second week. The judges highly favored both Brooke Burke & Warren Sapp, but I have to admit that one of my favorites was not the same.
Yes, I thought Warren Sapp was fantastic and the routine that he and Kym Johnson did with a “Matrix-esque” feel, was so much fun, But Brooke Burke’s dance just didn’t WOW me this week. (I’m not a huge fan of the paso doble…it’s just not my favorite.)
Here’s Warren & Kym’s dance:
And here’s my other favorite. It’s the one with Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer. So what of stuffy Len Goodman doesn’t like it? I think it was fantastic!!
What do you think? Should Lacey & Lance try to be more traditional, or should Len Goodman try to be more open-minded? I’d love to know what you think!
