8:37 PM Welcome to Dance Watcher’s LIVE BLOGGING of tonight’s final performance episode of So You Think You Can Dance!

I’ll be blogging live during the entire show, so don’t be shy, leave a comment and let’s all discuss!!
8:39 PM I have to be honest, that tonight, I’ll be happy with whoever wins. All four of them are fantastic dancers and have such great personalities.

And can you believe that last season, Twitch & Hok were up against each other for the final slot in the top 20 and Twitch didn’t make it? I love Hok, but I’m so glad that Twitch made it this season. He’s wonderful.
8:50 PM And this season, it was down to Katee and her roommate for the final girls’ spot. They almost didn’t choose her. Thank goodness, they did!
8:51 PM Can you believe the impact that hip-hop dancers have had this season? And most of them with absolutely no classical training at all. It’s amazing!
8:57 PM I know! She totally got into the competition as soon as she got in the top 20. She’s a fantastic dancer. She won me over too!

9:03 PM Mandy Moore is the judge? Has she done more than 3 dances this season ;)
9:03 PM Whew! Just managed to gulp down the last bites of my salad…

Mandy Moore is the guest judge tonight.
9:04 PM Twitch and Courtney totally have a thing for each other. They are always doing the whole “fighting” thing
9:04 PM First to dance are Courtney & Twitch and they have been choreographed by Napoleon & Tabitha D’Umo
9:04 PM I love these choreographers and both dancers!

9:06 PM They call that move “the shotgun” :)
9:06 PM this isn’t Courtney’s forte, but it is Twitch’s

9:07 PM Surprise, that Mandy has felt that crazy g/f thing before :)
9:07 PM I think Twitch was awesome, but Courtney wasn’t perfect…but I’m not a judge…
9:08 PM The judges aren’t going to say anything bad about anything tonight. They know if they burn anybody, it will probably cost them the competition.
9:08 PM Yeah, how could they all have gotten this far unless they were great?
9:09 PM Nigel: “(Twitch) I would be greatful that you’re dancing with Courtney, not Mary”. “It was absolutely perfect”
9:09 PM They are great, but even if they make a misstep tonight, I don’t think the judges will mention it. They all deserve to be there in the finale this season though, agreed?
9:09 PM He probably has no hearing in his left ear because of Mary’s screaming…

9:14 PM Remember that tomorrow night they will have some amazing dancers that will go head-to-head with the unbelievable hip-hop moves. I’m looking forward to that!

9:15 PM She’s just 18 yeas old. That’s amazing.
9:16 PM Her favorite routine was Sonya’s Jazz routine.
9:16 PM Poor Gev :( He’s going to challenge her boyfriend to a dance-off
9:16 PM LOL. He’ll do alright. :-)

9:18 PM Her solo was really good, of course.
9:18 PM Mandy got teary-eyed watching her.
9:19 PM Mary said her personality lights up the stage, no matter who she’s dancing with.
9:19 PM Mary: “You’re an inspiration to a lot of young girls out there”

9:26 PM Next to dance are Katee & Joshua. WOW! Wade Robson!! I love his work!

9:28 PM WOW they can spin!
9:28 PM They are perfectly matched dance partners.
9:29 PM They look honestly affected by the performance. Joshua especially.
9:29 PM Fabulous dance routine! They were both fantastic!
9:29 PM Mandy: she missed Wade on the show too!
9:30 PM Mandy: “So beautiful and so honest”
9:30 PM More work in legs & feet? I disagree…
9:30 PM Mary: it was absolutely beautiful
9:31 PM Nigel: There were many remarkable things about that routine.
9:32 PM Wade is choreographing Believe in Vegas, starring Criss Angel.
9:32 PM Nigel: Katee=”Absolutely fantastic”, Joshua=”Uncontrolled control…Not a normal dancer. This is a brillant dancer”
9:32 PM Nigel: Joshua has “Uncontrolled control.” This is a brilliant dancer. WOW
9:33 PM Twitch will do his solo next. He’s always so good. I love to watch his solos.

9:37 PM Courtney & Katee danced Broadway by Tyce Diorio.
9:38 PM This is going to be my favourite routine I expect :) “Girly-girl number”
9:38 PM Tyce has been amazing this season!
9:38 PM Katee nearly broke her prop umbrella before the performance.
9:38 PM Tyce is ALWAYS incredible!

9:39 PM It’s interesting to see both girls dance together, their styles are a bit different

9:40 PM There doesn’t feel like there’s a connection between the two of them
9:40 PM That was an uneventful ending.
9:41 PM Mandy: “It was so cute” = not good. Her comments seemed really half-hearted
9:42 PM The judges all seem to think that the umbrellas made it difficult.
9:42 PM Sounds like Nigel thinks Katee outdid Courtney…
9:42 PM “Katee has that extra little bit”
9:43 PM Twitch’s name started when he would dance during class and other inappropriate times.
9:43 PM He’s fantastic!
9:44 PM Cat: The Navy’s loss is our gain.
9:44 PM Twitch said he would have joined the Navy if he hadn’t got on this year
9:45 PM I thought Kerrington was going to be there in the end too :(
9:45 PM He and Kherington were a wonderful dance pair. His favorite dance was the one they did for Jean-Marc Genereaux’s handicapped daughter. It was remarkable.

9:46 PM Does he have a Cylon on his shirt? Oh, it’s a Japanese emperor
9:46 PM That hand movement represents the fourth season of the show and being the best.

9:48 PM Mary is speechless about his free style.

10:03 PM Next solo is Katee. They are showing her roommate and her saying that she wouldn’t try another time.

10:05 PM This is definitely my favourite of all Katee’s solos
10:05 PM Mandy: words of advice, keep dancing and stay in ballet.

10:12 PM I’m rooting for Twitch just because I think he’s cool and it would be neat if he wins. I think Katee prob deserves the win though based on her performances.

10:13 PM I think Twitch, Joshua & Katee each deserves it in their own way. Coutney could be an audience favorite,so she could do it too.

10:14 PM Twitch is much better at this Foxtrot than he has been before. He’s feeling more relaxed this time

10:16 PM He auditions with the British accent and Cat swoons.
10:16 PM The Foxtrot was originally danced to ragtime. Today, the dance is customarily accompanied by the same big band music to which swing is also danced.
10:16 PM Mary: the foxtrot is a gentleman’s dance and you were one cool gentleman
10:17 PM Nigel: Katee, you were splendid, there is nothing we have thrown at you that you have failed to accomplish.
10:18 PM Nigel: Twitch, you were a bit too British, and you needed to be more American. ;-)
10:18 PM Nigel: they have spoiled the choreographers this season.
10:19 PM Mia Michaels contemporary routine with all the remaining dancers, coming up
10:20 PM Mia’s work is always amazing too. I still think my favorite of hers was the one she did last season in about meeting her father in heaven. I remember Lacey and all the flowers.
10:21 PM That one made me cry. And the judges too.
10:21 PM Do you think Mia is ticked that Sonia is around? She’s not the really cool choreographer around there any more ;)
10:22 PM Oh, they have completely different styles. Sonya is more gritty than Mia. Mia is more into the imagination…
10:22 PM Their dances each have a different feel. I think their work complements each others’
10:23 PM I hope Wade is back for all of season 5.
10:24 PM Joshua’s solo is next. He could have pursued football & track, but chose dance instead.
10:24 PM Cat is actually a pretty good interviewer (but this might be scripted)
10:25 PM Cat: “you’re the biggest cryer on this show”
10:26 PM My favorite moment with Cat is when she told Twitch to hand over his “grill”, spit and all. then she put it in her mouth and wore the glasses. What a hoot!

10:35 PM What happened to the Lindy-hop this season? It was awesome in the finale last year.
10:35 PM Jive is a dance style in 4/4 time that originated among African-Americans in the early 1940s. It is a lively and uninhibited variation of the Jitterbug, a form of Swing dance. In Ballroom dancing, Jive is one of the five International Latin dances. In competition it is danced at a speed of 44 bars per minute, although in other cases this is reduced to between 32 and 40 bars per minute.

10:39 PM East Coast Swing (ECS) is a form of social partner dance that evolved from the Lindy Hop with the work of the Arthur Murray dance studios in the 1940’s. East Coast Swing can be referred to by many different names in different regions of the United States and the World.
