Last night, we got to see the series premiere of the new half-hour dancing game show called Master of Dance on TLC. The show’s host is Joey Lawrence, veteran of Dancing With the Stars and among its judges is none other than master choreographer Tyce Diorio! But don’t let that give you the wrong idea. This show definitely does not involve professional dancers, by any means.
Instead, its a 30-minute show where five club dancers go toe-to-toe to see who can dance the styles and moves from various eras and for different songs. Sound confusing? It’s really pretty simple. The contestants dance to the same music using their best and what they hope is their most authentic dance moves to match the song from the past. In round after round, dancers are eliminated until one is left to be named the evening’s Master of Dance.
It’s all in fun and the dancers’ enthusiasm and personality count nearly as much as the moves they bring to the floor. And even better, it’s a show that begs us to get up and dance along. What could be more fun than that?
I enjoyed the first two episodes and will probably tune in again…and dance along. And if you think this sounds like fun, be sure to watch too. The show is on TLC and the full schedule of air dates is located here. Have a great time!

I agree the show was awful. How they’re gonna name the winner of MASTER OF DANCE to some fat ***** that won out of pity and not to the runner up who actually deserved it.
