So You Think You Can Dance: More Amazing Auditions
This week, we were treated to four hours of emotional and exciting dance auditions for the fourth season of So You Think You Can Dance. Casting Calls were in four different cities and we saw so many great and not-so-great dancers take the stage.
Most notable for me were all the amazing breakers, poppers and other street performers. There were dancers who did things none of us has ever seen done before. The level of dance talent this season is mind-blowing!
There were also a number of simply incredible contemporary dancers and a Washington DC Swing couple that were wonderful to watch!!
I was moved to tears by the young man with Down’s Syndrome who danced his heart out to raise our awareness for people with disabilities. What a wonderful example he sets for others who think they are unable to do things!! I wish him only the best of everything.
There was the fellow who tore a hamstring muscle warming up and danced anyway. He showed so much determination and I hope he returns to the auditions next year.
There was a strange guy with a hair style that resembled Mickey Mouse ears who got into a huge argument with the judges and a beautifully charming and entertaining young man who calls himself “Goofball.” If the rest of the season is as terrific as the auditions are, we are in for a fabulous summer! Bring it on!
