Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann - First Team Performances
Ok, I’m going to try to stay positive about this show. Compared to the quality of dancing we see on shows like So You Think You Can Dance and even Dancing With the Stars after the first few weeks, the dancing on this show is often disappointing. It’s obvious that most of them are amateurs. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s great to get new dancers started, but the whole competition between teams thing still isn’t doing it for me. And about half of the singers (mostly the girls) hit sour notes fairly often and it just spoils the experience for me.
The show started with Drew Lachey telling us it was Pop Music Night. (Oh, please tell me that there won’t be a Country Music Night!!) Then the singers/dancers performed in several combinations and we were told to call in and vote for our favorite team. I like some of the members of each of the teams, but not all of either of them.
I really don’t know how they will do the elimination thing. So far, the show seems a bit chaotic to me. It seems like it can’t decide whether it’s an American Idol clone or a poor imitation of SYTYCD. Perhaps next week, it will all fall together for me. All of the young people seem so sincere and I like them as people, I just don’t enjoy the format of the show very much.
This was my two cents. I promise from here on this season, I’ll be less negative. But I would like to hear your opinion of this show format. Does it work for you? Do you like or dislike the show? And don’t hesitate to tell me that I’m all wrong, if that’s your opinion. I want to hear what you think, no matter which way you feel about the show. Please answer the poll question and/or leave a comment.
