Dancing With the Stars 5: The Romantic Rumba

by Lynn on October 23rd, 2007

On last night’s Dancing With the Stars, half of the dancers did the rumba. According to dancer Mark Ballas, “The rumba is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire.” Very aptly said!

Finally, Sabrina Bryan & Mark Ballas danced the samba with their usual passion. Tom Bergeron told them to “Get a room.”

(lots more after the jump)

Here’s Cameron Mathison & Edyta Sliwinska doing the rumba. Definitely sensual!

Jane Seymour & Tony Dovolani danced a beauiful rumba:

Then Helio Castroneves & Julianne Hough danced a strong rumba (but not that romantic):

I really didn’t like Sabrina/Mark. She’s so still in the hips, they didn’t move much. They really did mostly posing and not much dancing, trying to suck face most of the time.

I like Cameron/Edyta, they were hot. They actually moved. I also liked Jennie/Derek, although Derek doesn’t always stay on the beat because he’s trying to add so many spins.

Helio/Julianne were such a disappointment. If you look at the mambo again and watch Helio’s footwork, he doesn’t really do much. Julianne is doing most of the work. So that was good camaflage (?) of Helio’s feet/hips.
