So You Think You Can Dance: Top 10 Dancers Recap

by Lynn on July 25th, 2007

This week marks the week when we see the top 10 dancers, the ones that will go on a 50-city tour after the season is over. I’ll let you know the details of the tour as soon as they are announced.

The individual solo dances this week will be choreographed by Wade Robson, and the them of the dance they will all do is “Be the change.” It’s about peace. Very cool!

Jaimie went first and did a pretty good job, but then, Dominic took the statge and dancing the same dance…he rocked it! Sara did the dance very well, then came Pasha and was wonderful. Lauren was fantastic, then Neil was\extremely good. Sabra was incredible, then Kameron was good. Lacey was amazing and Danny was simply incredible.

My thoughts about the individual dances are these. I thought that the two best male dancers were Dominic and Danny. And I thought that the best female dancers were Lacey and Sara.

Lauren Gottlieb & Pasha Kovalev:
Hip Hop - choreographed by Shane Sparks

It was Pasha’s first time to do Hip Hop and they were worried about his performance. I think they did a great job. Pasha’s moves were a tiny bit smooth for a hip hop dance, but it was a great first performance. A very cool dance and some great moves!

Sabra Johnson & Kameron Bink:
Contemporary - choreographed by Tyce Diorio

They were amazing! It was as if they had been together for a long time. Sabra did one run & jump where Kameron caught her and it was simply beautiful. The judges didn’t see the magic between them, but I did.

Lacey Schwimmer & Danny Tidwell:
Samba - choreographed by Dmitry Chaplin - (from last year’s top 10 - but darn it, he left his shirt on!) ;-) & did you notice that last year’s Heidi was Dmitry’s assistant?

Whoa!!! What a hot, sexy dance! Lacey & Danny were on fire!! That was fabulous!!!

Jaimie Goodwin & Dominic Sandoval:
Viennese Waltz - choreographed by Toni Redpath

I thought they were very good. Dominic was very good, but in the last move, it almost looked like he let her down too hard. And I thought that it seemed more like a paso dpoble than a waltz. I think the choreography was to blame. But other than that, I really loved it.

Sara Von Gillern & Neil Haskell:
Disco - choreographed by Doriana Sanchez

I actually loved the disco routine. Usually, I hate the disco dances. Sara and Neil really made it fantastic. Neil did a flip that was amazing! Great job!!

So who were your favorites? Who disappointed you this week? Who do you think will go home this week? Leave a comment to share your thoughts!

Be sure to watch tomorrow night, then check back here for the recap and the dance performance videos!
