So You Think You Can Dance: The Top 16 Dancers

Competition is getting tougher each week and that’s why this show is so addictive!! Here are my thoughts about tonight’s top 16 dancers:
Jesús & Sara:
Krump - choreographer Lil C.
I loved Lil C.’s way of teaching the moves. There’s the “bathroom stall,” the “old lady with a walker” and a bunch of others. He seems like a lot of fun to learn from! As for the dance itself, Jesús blew me away! Sara didn’t seem quite as fluid in her movements as he did, but she was really into it. I liked them both, but Jesús jsut looked like a natural!
Cedric & Shauna:
Contemporary - choreographer Mia Michaels.
Mia definitely choreographed the dance to work with Cedric’s strengths. It was magnificent! They were amazing together and it was resplendent! I hope they will not be in the bottom three this week!
The judges were negative about the fact that Mia choreographed the piece for Cedric and told him he should be going home. He told the younger dancers that he was an example they should use to show them that they should study. Then, Debbie Allen told him she wanted him in her dance school - free. (Sounds like he’s a winner, no matter what!)
Kameron & Lacey:
Quickstep - choreographer Tony Meredith.
All I can say is WOW! They were fabulous!! It looked like they had both been doing Quickstep forever! Great dance!
Danny & Anya:
Hip-Hop - choreographer Dan Karaty.
Anya may have been afraid of hip-hop, but she was great at it! They were so good together! They totally pulled it off!! I think they will be around for a very long time in this competition.
Dominic and Sabra:
Rumba - choreographer Jean-Marc Generaux.
They may not be able to pronouce “Rumba” but they lit it on fire! That was the best they have done so far. Great!
Neil & Lauren:
Tango - choreographer Jean-Marc Generaux.
I liked it, but it didn’t blow me away. I have seen a lot of better tangos. It wasn’t bad, but not fabulous. They may be a bit in danger this week.
Hok & Jaimie:
Jazz - choreographer Wade Robson.
Oh, yeah! I think this was the most impressive dance of the evening, for me. I loved the choreography! Hok was perfect in his part and Jaimie was fabulous too. Very impressive!
Pasha & Jessi:
Cha-Cha - choreographer Tony Meredith.
Just before the performance, Jessi had to be rushed to the hospital and the doctors told her not to perform. so Pasha danced with Tony’s assistant. He tore it up! He was incredible. Everyone, vote for Pasha! It’s so hard to dance with a new dance partner after all the rehearsals with a different person. Go, Pasha!!
It’s going to be another tough one. I think the bottom three might be Neil & Lauren, Cedric & Shauna (Unfortunately!) and Anya & Danny. I guess we’ll all have to wait until tomorrow night to see who it turns out to be.
What are your thoughts? Did you enjoy all the dances? Who do you think will be in tomorrow’s bottom three? Leave a comment to let us know!
